Mercosur and Canada sign the memorandum of understanding to start negotiations



The foreign ministers of the Mercosur (Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil) and also the Minister of International Trade of Canada, François-Philippe Champagne, signed nowadays in Asunción the memorandum of understanding for the negotiations of a trade agreement, which can begin this month in the Canadian city of Ottawa.




Champagne and his team met within the Paraguayan chancellery with the delegations of Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil, headed by their individual foreign ministers (Eladio Loizaga, Rodolfo Nin Novoa, Jorge Faurie and Aloysio Nunes), to give the start of negotiations .
