Mercosur and Canada Commit to Setting Goals for Free Trade Agreement

The MERCOSUR countries (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) and Canada pledged today to define the objectives of the free trade agreement that they intend to negotiate, highlighting the enormous potential that can increase trade and investment between both parties.

Possible trade talks between the South American Southern Cone block and the most northern American country were discussed at the meeting in Morocco of the Minister of International Trade of Canada, Fran├žois-Philippe Champagne, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Aloysio Nunes, according to a statement released Monday by the Brazilian Foreign Ministry.
