IMF: "Prolonged uncertainty" in Catalonia could slow confidence in Spain

Andrea Schaechter, head of the IMF's work in Spain
The International Monetary Fund warned that a "prolonged uncertainty" in Catalonia "could weigh on confidence and investment decisions" in Spain, while highlighting the "strong prospects" positive for the Spanish economy.

"As our outlook for the Spanish economy is strong, prolonged tensions and uncertainty regarding Catalonia could weigh on confidence and investment decisions," said Andrea Schaechter, head of the mission of the financial institution for Spain, presenting the annual report on the Spanish economy.
