IMF increases Latin American growth to 1.2% in 2017

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) today revised slightly upward economic growth in Latin America and the Caribbean by 2017 to 1.2% and maintained its outlook for 2018 at 1.9% after two years of recession in the region.

"In Latin America and the Caribbean, where GDP contracted by almost 1% in 2016, real GDP is expected to increase to 1.2% in 2017 and 1.9% in 2018," said the report, World Economic Outlook, presented today in Washington.
