Fed pushes for "patience" before raising interest rates on low inflation

The US Federal Reserve (Fed) considers that "patience" is necessary in order to continue with the plan of gradual increase of interest rates until the increase in inflation is detected, according to the minutes of its last meeting on monetary policy.

"It was stressed that some patience is needed when withdrawing the monetary stimulus while evaluating the trends in inflation," said the minutes of the meeting on 19 and 20 September.
